From Hunter to Rifle Builder
Raised in Eastern Oregon, I grew up hunting mule deer and Rocky Mountain elk. After high school, I joined the United States Air Force and served for six years as a Munitions Systems Specialist—“Ammo!”—including a deployment to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Storm.
Following my military service, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Arizona State University and began a technology career spanning more than 20 years at Motorola and Intel. That experience shaped the disciplined, systems-oriented approach I later brought to rifle building.
I began building rifles because I saw a need for premium hunting rifles that combined precision, manageable weight, dependable field performance, and long-range capability. Rather than simply assembling premium components, my goal was to engineer each rifle as a complete system.
After building rifles for friends and family, I was encouraged to bring that approach to a broader group of hunters. Anasazi Precision Engineering was formally established in 2024 as a federally licensed, small-volume rifle company focused on craftsmanship, accuracy, and personal attention.
The Anasazi philosophy
The name Anasazi was chosen to reflect the ingenuity, craftsmanship, and adaptability associated with the ancient American Southwest. The Ancestral Pueblo peoples created enduring structures and sophisticated tools suited to an unforgiving environment, combining practical problem-solving with extraordinary attention to detail. That spirit of resourcefulness and purposeful engineering inspires our approach to rifle building.
